Hi, my name is Tammy Helton and I am the Director and Co-founder of God’s Blueprints. I am the mother of two wonderful sons and grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren. Both my husband and I have lived here in Rogersville most of all our lives.
God’s Blueprints was established to help with restoration. Psalm 71:20-21
You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth. You will restore me to even greater honor and comfort me once again.
As I prayed for my granddaughter the Holy Spirit spoke to me that she would be restored to the original blueprints that He had for her. He said that the enemy had placed walls where there should have never been walls and windows where no windows should be. The same is true for our clients. God wants to restore them to His original blueprints.
I believe my desire to help the homeless and underprivileged began as a child. Many times I watched my father, Paul Fleenor, reach out and help those in need. He owned a local country store and I can remember several homeless families that he would help. He would give them day labor to help out with gas and would feed their families.
I have been actively involved in ministry for almost 30 years. Whether it was children's ministry, youth, or adult ministry, I have always invested my heart into the people.
For 15 years prior, I worked for a large regional service ministry. My capacities in this leadership role included a wide variety of day-to-day management, coordinating mission teams from all over the country and coordinating relationships with other agencies to meet the needs of people in our community.
It’s always been my heart to be a missionary. I just never thought it would be in my own home town, but I’m so glad that it is.
Most of the people we serve were born and raised right here in our community. They were our classmates, our neighbors, friends and some even family. Each one holds a story, few are alike, but the repercussions are the same. God has given me this walk for a reason. He wants me to love and nurture each one of their lives just as He would. My love for each one is unconditional and I want to see each one restored. It’s the way God made me. I find my heart filled with joy at being used by God to help downtrodden people be restored to God's design.
I want to personally thank all of you who have reached out to help God’s Blueprints in any way. Whether it was through donations or prayer, know that you have made a difference in many lives.
